Once upon a time there were two brothers who would probably have failed even Marie Kondo, the most successful law enforcement officer in the world. Homer and Langley Collyer lived in a mansion in Harlem when it was still a middle-class neighborhood. Homer, born in 1881, was an engineer and pianist, while his brother Langley, four years his junior, was a lawyer. The brothers were unmarried and childless, feeding stray cats in the neighborhood.
