Sánchez sees a priority to end violence based on sexual orientation or gender identity

MADRID, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has indicated this Tuesday that it is a "priority" for the Executive to adopt policies to protect LGTBI people and end violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

In a message on Twitter, collected by Europa Press, Sánchez has expressed himself in this way on the International Day against LGBTIphobia that is celebrated on May 17.

"Protecting the rights of LGTBI people is a priority for my Government. We will continue working, adopting public policies that end any type of violence or discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity," he indicated.

Along the same lines, the PSOE has affirmed that a society that does not discriminate is "a better society for everyone", through the same social network. "On the International Day against LGTBIphobia we show our firm commitment to ending the scourge of discrimination and hate crimes," he added in a message on the party's official account.
