A few minutes ago, the Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto, arrived in Toro to explain to the workers of the factory that Siro owns in the town of Zamora about the preliminary agreement reached on the new offer made by the investment group, which consists of 112 million euros and that would mean guaranteeing the company's future in the Community.

Zamoran workers, who have already rejected the previous viability plan proposal, will be the first to vote at 121 in the morning for the current proposal, which is the last chance, according to the investment group, to save the 1,400 jobs direct that are in the air due to the critical situation that the agri-food firm is going through, with a debt of around 300 million euros and the necessary intervention of investment partners to revive the group.

Later the minister will travel to the factories in the Palencia town of Venta de Baños, which had also rejected the initial proposal, which included the closure of the biscuit plant in the municipality. Now, two more years of margin are offered for these facilities and some respite for its 197 workers, in addition to a specific negotiating table for this specific case.

Lastly, the assembly of the Palencia town of Aguilar de Campoo will be held, the only plant that had approved the company's first offer. In addition, the employees of the research center of El Espinar (Segovia) will vote.

The text achieved after five hours of negotiation with investors assumes that they will allocate 100 million euros to guarantee the future of the plants. In addition to a commitment of "significant public resources", it includes the "recovery of purchasing power" of workers, maintaining wage increases.
