There it stands in front of me, the small colorful bowl with the sticky grains of rice and the yellow sunflowers. A sweet wonder that was born in Thailand and has conquered the world from there: Mango Sticky Rice.

As the music thunders from the speakers and a wild hustle and bustle sets in at a market on the island of Koh Samui, I forget everything around me and devote myself to the contents of my bowl, my little daughter on my lap.
