The International Logistics Exhibition (SIL), which will be held between May 31 and June 2 in Hall 8 of Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue, expects to exceed 12,000 visitors and the presence of 650 exhibiting companies from the entire chain of supplies.

This was explained this Wednesday at a press conference by the special delegate of the State in the Consortium of the Free Trade Zone of Barcelona (CZFB) and president of the SIL, Pere Navarro, and the general director of the CZFB and the SIL, Blanca Sorigué.

Sorigué has highlighted the international presence at the meeting, which represents 30% of the companies and 20% of the congressmen; in addition to the participation of more than 300 'speakers' in 80 sessions.

He recalled that this room represents "the entire supply chain" and that the will is to base it on business, knowledge and 'networking'.

Navarro has highlighted the "presence of 'startups' in the show well above what was expected", which exceeds 150, which allows the creation of a new productive fabric and the creation of new opportunities.

Navarro has pointed out that the will of the organization is to claim that "logistics makes the world move, as has been seen with the pandemic."

"Logistics is not often in the news because it works", he pointed out, adding that the sector no longer works only to move packages and store them, but is also related to new technologies, industry 4.0 and data processing, among others.

He stressed that the sector "has evolved very quickly" in the last three years and has given the growth of electronic commerce as an example. Navarro has recalled that logistics is the first access to the world of work for many young people, and that, although "many times the conditions are precarious", it allows them to have their first job.

He explained that the autonomous community invited in this edition is Extremadura, with which the show will have the presence of the president of the region, Guillermo Fernández Vara, and companies from Extremadura.
