The seventh wave of Covid already has its reflection in Castilla y León, judging by the data provided this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health. Infections continue to rise and during the last week, between June 21 and 28, a total of 7,599 new infections were recorded. This new data represents an increase of 40.8 percent compared to those recorded the previous week (5,395) and 62.2 percent when compared to the week of June 10 to 17.

In the last seven days, 40 people have died, compared to 45 last week, of which 38 did so in hospitals and two in nursing homes, the Ministry of Health reported in a statement.

With the data confirmed as of this Tuesday, the number of Covid cases since the start of the pandemic already amounts to 781,598 in the Community, and those who died in hospitals, to 7,869. In addition, Castilla y León registers 63 active outbreaks, with 1,189 linked cases.
