Ms. Jacob, in your new book "Life only goes forward" you advocate not looking so much at your own past and instead looking more forward. What's wrong with dealing with the past? There's nothing wrong with that. Looking back is always part of life, even in psychotherapy. Where do certain feelings come from? What behavioral patterns can I recognize and what are their causes? Such questions are important. I just have the impression that we are sometimes exaggerating: There is a lot of psychologization in our society - and many people are very concerned with themselves. Dealing with the "inner child" is particularly popular.
