The Motorcycle World Championship faces its seventh round this weekend, the French Grand Prix, to which the local rider Fabio Quartararo arrives as MotoGP world champion and leader of the riders' classification. Surely the vast majority of the throats in the stands will break in its path at the Le Mans Circuit, in the city of the same name.

The Gallic asphalt will live a duel that is still very open at the start of the season, with Quartararo first, but with a narrow advantage over the Spanish Aleix Espargaró and a little more cushion over the Italian Bastianini and the Spanish Álex Rins. Marc Márquez's search for the best version of himself, still in development, has left room for a good number of riders who have not quite achieved the dominance that the Repsol-Honda team achieved in its day.

Things are somewhat clearer at the moment in the Moto2 category, with the Italian Celestino Vietti leading, and in Moto3, with the Spaniard Sergio García in first position.
