Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse and Pier-Luc Funk will defend two characters “hungry for social justice” in the new Last Resort series, which will be available next year on Club illico.

This dramatic fiction “against a social and political saga” will have 10 one-hour episodes. It is Aetios Productions, the box of Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau, which produces the whole thing in collaboration with Quebecor Content. Aetios is behind the three seasons of Blue Moon, which entertained Videotron platform subscribers.

It is Louis Choquette (The honorable, After) who will direct the actors as well as the set during the filming planned for this summer, from the texts of Anita Rowan (O ', Eyes closed).

Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse (Les pays d’en haut, Le chalet, Unit 9) and Pier-Luc Funk (Between two sheets, Forever, not a day, Fragile) will play Éléonore and Jacob respectively. The first is a lawyer and the second is a journalist. Both come from a more privileged background and are rebels at heart, not to say woke, the fashionable expression these days. They will seek, through their work, to defend the marginalized and the deprived in society because they are sensitive to diversity and inclusion, and they do not tolerate injustice.

Éléonore and Jacob will pool their energies in order to “help people who have lost confidence in institutions and democracy”, explained Fabienne Larouche in an interview with the QMI Agency.

She explains that Last Resort is not a title chosen at random. The plots will thus put forward situations “before something very serious happens”.

"These are people who do not have the means and who do not know how to take it", detailed the producer, speaking of the people who will be supported by the two protagonists.

The rest of the cast will be revealed later as well as other details regarding the social causes that will be defended by the two friends.
