Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot: Firefighters practice at Livradais Spur

The Lot-et-Garonne firefighters, who specialize in animal rescue (Animal Risk Unit 47), arrived to train the horses of Eperon Livradais. There were several exercises that the 19 professionals did, including "work on putting a halter on, on boarding and around the installation a specific mask".

After the exercises were complete, a canine couple was formed with Jet, an 8-year-old border collie, to help find a lost person.

The Animal Risk Unit was established in 2014 by the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Lot-et-Garonne. It currently has almost twenty employees. These firefighters are often called upon to rescue and assist in dangerous situations. They saved many horses from drowning in 2019 and 2020. The animal team saved a doe that was stuck in a garden last March. She was trapped by fences and had to be released so she could return to her natural habitat.

The officials from the Livrad club expressed gratitude to the firefighters for their hard work and passage through our structure.
