Saint-Emilion: Sharing and exchanges in the feminine

Catherine Fanti, then elected municipal officer, created recreation for women twenty years ago to allow women to exchange ideas and practice creative hobbies such as painting on all supports, knitting, and cardboard.

The club is located in the Guadet house, which is a building that was donated by the town hall. Under the five-year presidency of Lucette Pechabrier, fifteen members meet every Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The spirit of the group has not changed. They meet to discuss, have a good time and break the loneliness. The president explains that we reuse materials (paper scraps for example). These ladies are precursors to the second life of objects and practice reuse to reduce waste.

These objects are for sale to allow us to arrange outings once a year, and sometimes to have a meal at the restaurant. A few regulars order, but otherwise, the club organizes an annual auction-sale that is open to everyone. This allows the club to be well known and the creations to sell.
