Saint-Andre-de-Cubzac: a truck and three trailers on fire in a company

The alert was issued on Friday, May 27, at 5:50 p.m. Immediately, a large number of firefighters were deployed to control a fire that occurred within the refrigerated transport company Nicolas, avenue de l'Europe, in Saint-Andre-de-Cubzac.

Unknown cause caused the fire to spread to three trailers. The rapid intervention of firefighters from the Saint-Andre-de-Cubzac and Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac centres, made it possible to preserve the building thanks to the action of two lances.

The company's drivers intervened and moved several trucks to get out of the way of the flames. The sky was filled with thick black smoke and the sound of tanks and tires exploding for several hundred meter were heard.

There were no injuries. The accident scene was secured by the gendarmes who arrived on the scene. The SNCF line was close to the accident scene, so train traffic was stopped for 30 minutes so firefighters could intervene.

To determine the cause of the fire, an investigation will be launched.
