A pedestrian was hit by two cars one after the other at a traffic light crossing in Rostock and was seriously injured. The 52-year-old wanted to cross a street on Friday afternoon when the pedestrian traffic light was red, the police said in the evening. The driver of an approaching car tried to avoid the pedestrian, but caught him with the left fender. A second car traveling in the same lane also crashed into the pedestrian. However, the unidentified driver continued driving without stopping, it was said.
According to the information, the pedestrian threw his head against a shopping basket full of packages in the second accident and initially remained motionless. He was taken to a hospital by paramedics. There is a suspicion that the man was drunk. A blood sample was taken from him in the hospital by order of the judge. Investigators are asking for information about the car that drove away.
