A driver died in a traffic accident on the B59 near Pulheim (Rhein-Erft district) on Tuesday afternoon. As a police spokesman said in the evening, he had tried to overtake and his car crashed head-on into an oncoming truck. The truck then hit another car, which reportedly overturned and landed in a field. The driver who had previously attempted to overtake suffered fatal injuries. The two drivers of the other vehicles were taken to hospitals with serious injuries.
