The Junta de Castilla y León, through the General Directorate of Public Health, has activated the action, epidemiological and care protocol, in the event of a suspected case of monkeypox infection in the Community.

The Ministry of Health has sent the corresponding tests, following the protocol established by the Coordinating Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies (C.C.A.E.S) for the entire National Health System.

As they have indicated, the case now under investigation meets clinical and epidemiological criteria, for which the Epidemiology Services of the Board have transferred the corresponding samples to the National Microbiology Center of Majadahonda (Madrid), a reference laboratory for analysis by PCR test.
