The general secretary of the Popular Group in the Madrid Assembly, Pedro Muñoz Abrines, will be the new parliamentary spokesman, replacing Alfonso Serrano, elected general secretary of the Madrid Popular Party. The announcement was made by the president of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, during an interview on Telemadrid.

Muñoz Abrines is an experienced parliamentarian and was the bet that was being considered for this position. Although the name of the parliamentarian and spokesperson for the Popular Party in Fuenlabrada, Noelia Núñez, was mentioned, Muñoz Abrines was chosen to defend the management of the regional government in an increasingly tense chamber and with harsh clashes with the left-wing opposition.

Since before Serrano was elected secretary general last Saturday in the congress of the popular people of Madrid, the change in the spokesperson was assured, as ABC revealed last Thursday.

This change "responds to the objective of the Madrid president of not accumulating responsibilities with several positions at the same time," according to sources close to Díaz Ayuso.

Muñoz Abrines, who is currently deputy spokesman, has a law degree and has been a deputy since the III Legislature of the Assembly, where he has held various responsibilities as general secretary, technical general secretary and Treasury spokesman. He has also been part, representing the PP, of several investigation commissions.
