Dr. Pedro Cavadas not only warned of the serious risks posed by the coronavirus and that a pandemic could decimate the world population. The surgeon, who is part of the prestigious Forbes list of the best doctors, was accused of being "alarmist" and "spreader of hoaxes" by the media and doctors.

However, Pedro Cavadas' forecasts were fulfilled and another of his forecasts follows the same path. The Valencian doctor warned that the asymmetric distribution of vaccines, which he said would take "several years" to reach the entire population, would make it difficult to eradicate the pandemic and, consequently, would facilitate the spread of the coronavirus.

In this regard, Pedro Cavadas set the time horizon for the fall of 2022 so that the pandemic could be controlled and that, for example, the use of the mask -the last valid symbol of the restrictions due to the coronavirus- would become a "optional".

With the risk that the new variants cause an increase in infections, the director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies (CCAES), Fernando Simón, has warned this week that “the pandemic is not over”.
