Agents of the National Police have arrested a woman and a man, both 45 years old, in Valencia for allegedly hitting their twelve-year-old son with their hands and objects such as belts on different parts of the body when they punished him for some reason. The arrest has occurred after the alert given by the minor's teachers when they saw injuries to his forearms.

The events occurred last week, when the agents were commissioned by the 091 Room to go to a school in Valencia where a child had injuries and was accompanied by his mother, who was "very nervous", explains the Headquarters Superior in a statement.

Once they arrived at the center, the policemen met with the director and the head of studies, who stated that that same day the tutor of a child had noticed that he had some injuries on his forearms and, when asked about their origin, The minor stated that he had fallen, which was not credible to the teacher, for which she informed the management team.

From the center they notified the minor's mother, who admitted that she herself had caused the injuries by hitting him with a belt. For this reason, the school quickly notified the National Police.

The agents, after carrying out the appropriate checks, arrested the parent as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of abuse in the family. Likewise, the police officers found out that the aggressions occurred with some frequency, both by the mother and the father, who allegedly hit the minor with their hands or objects on different parts of the body when they punished him for some reason.

Thus, the agents of the Group of Minors (GRUME) of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of Valencia, who took charge of the investigations, also arrested the father as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of ill-treatment in the family.

The two detainees, without police records, have gone to court and a restraining order has been decreed for both with respect to the minor. The investigators, in turn, handed over the child to a close relative, reporting all this to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
