Order canceled: Tesla leaves bakery sitting on 4,000 cakes – what Elon Musk says about it

A Tesla employee orders thousands of cakes from a small bakery in California (USA), only to cancel them at short notice. A desperate Facebook post from the baker who was left with the $16,000 order then went viral. RTL also reported on it. And even the Tesla boss himself became aware of the incident.

"I just heard about it. Will make up for the bakery thing," writes Elon Musk under an X-post from Kron4 News, which reported on the canceled mega order. "People should always be able to rely on Tesla the best there is," Musk also writes. He doesn't say exactly how Elon Musk wants to make up for the cancellation. But the Tesla boss is considered one of the richest people in the world. Financial compensation should therefore be possible for the billionaire.

A Tesla employee orders a total of 4,000 mini cakes from the small bakery The Giving Pies for the car company. But the bakery owner Voahangy Rasetarinera doesn't see a cent of the $16,000 order, the equivalent of just under 14,800 euros. Although the baker and her employee work through the night to get the order ready on time, the Tesla employee cancels the order at short notice. The bakery is stuck with the thousands of baked cakes.

A little later, Tesla contacts the baker again. The employee probably had no authority to promise payment, writes ABC News. But fortunately the small business owner is receiving a lot of support from the surrounding area after the horror cancellation. Some customers and local businesses are now offering to buy the cakes Tesla spurned from the baker.
