It wants to reduce the intensity of its emissions by 40% by 2024

OHLA has launched its 2022-2024 Sustainability Plan, within the framework of its Sustainability policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, promoted by the United Nations (UN).

The objective of the company owned by the Mexican brothers Amodio is to contribute to the progress of the planet through infrastructures that have a positive impact on society, as reported in a statement.

The 2022-2024 Sustainability Plan, which responds to a listening process with its stakeholders, is based on three strategic priorities: Sustainable Business, Responsible Management and Social Progress, adding 21 challenges and 40 lines of action, as well as several objectives annual, through which the company incorporates sustainability as the backbone of its business.

In the field of Sustainable Business, the company's main lines of action will focus on promoting the progressive decarbonisation of its activity and reducing the intensity of emissions by 40% in 2024.

It will also apply different circular economy criteria in its projects, with the recycling or reuse of more than 80% of non-hazardous waste, and will try to develop good practices in terms of biodiversity and the promotion of sustainable construction techniques.

The main tool to achieve this business sustainability will be through the promotion of innovation and transformation projects with ESG (Social, Environmental and Corporate Governance) indicators.

In this sense, in terms of Responsible Management, the company will incorporate ESG criteria in the variable remuneration of the management team, in addition to a commitment to transparency and good governance, and continued compliance with the standards established by the United Nations 2030 Agenda. .

With regard to Social Progress, OHLA will promote equal opportunities, implementing new ways of working that allow employees to develop personally and professionally; and promoting alliances to provoke real and visible changes in society, among other aspects.
