What women do – or don’t do – with their faces quickly becomes political. Because with every eyeliner your own relationship to social ideals of beauty is negotiated: Do you voluntarily put on make-up because you think it's beautiful - or is the lip gloss only applied because you've been taught from an early age that full lips are attractive?
