A 53-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured in a collision with a turning car in Uchte. His passenger was seriously injured in the accident on Sunday afternoon in the Nienburg/Weser district. According to initial findings, the two formed the end of an eleven-strong motorbike column, as the police announced in the evening. When the group turned right, the 53-year-old continued towards Sulingen. An oncoming motorist reportedly overlooked the fact that the two men were driving straight ahead and turned left. The 24-year-old collided with the motorcyclist and his passenger.

Despite immediately initiated resuscitation measures, the 53-year-old died on the spot from his life-threatening injuries. The 60-year-old passenger was taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter. According to the police, the 24-year-old who caused the accident suffered a shock and was also taken to the hospital. The B61 was completely closed for several hours while the accident was being recorded.
