New in cinemas: the film releases of the week

In 1991, Til Schweiger played Proll Bertie in the Ruhr area comedy "Manta, Manta" - it was the cinema debut of the now 59-year-old. More than 30 years later, Schweiger is now getting the eponymous cult car out of the garage again: "Manta Manta - Second Part" starts and continues the car saga from back then. In terms of content, it should be about a race in which Bertie (Schweiger) would like to compete in order to get rid of financial worries. Uschi (Tina Ruland), Bertie's blonde partner from the first part, and buddy Klausi (Michael Kessler) are also there again. Schweiger directed the film himself and also co-wrote the screenplay.

Star violinist mother between stage and private life

Anne-Sophie Mutter is a world-class violinist. She has been playing the violin for more than 50 years - and even as a child so well that she inspired well-known musicians such as the conductor Herbert von Karajan. Now the Munich woman is 60 years old. The documentary "Anne-Sophie Mutter - Vivace" gives an insight into her life - as a musician and in her private life. Artist colleagues, companions and friends have their say, such as John Williams, who wrote the music for the space epic "Star Wars", or the magician Steve Cohen and tennis player Roger Federer. Many archive recordings can also be seen. In one scene, a mother as a child confidently states her career aspirations: violinist. "And if it doesn't work?" asks the interviewer, whereupon the young violinist asks in amazement: "Why shouldn't it work?".
