Music: Lizzo in Barclays Arena: Mood since the first beat

The American singer and rapper Lizzo put on a strong stage show in front of a party-loving crowd in Hamburg. As part of her The Special Tour, the 34-year-old pop and RnB star performed in a pink Leo outfit at the packed Barclays Arena on Monday night. The hits from their new album and their most popular songs from the charts made the fans dance even in the arena's seats. Already after the second song there was the first standing ovation for Lizzo, who was born Melissa Jefferson.

"Special" is the fourth studio album by the award-winning artist. Just earlier this month, she was awarded her fourth Grammy for Recording of the Year for her song "About Damn Time." Her international breakthrough came in 2019 with the song "Good as Hell", which actually made its debut in 2016. In 2019, Lizzo also spent seven weeks at number one on the Billboard charts with "Truth Hurts."

In addition to her musical career, the singer has repeatedly focused on her commitment to diversity, equality and body positivity in recent years. At the People's Choice Awards 2022, she was honored with an honorary award for her role model function.

Lizzo's concert in Hamburg was the start of her three concerts in Germany. In the coming week she will also perform in arenas in Berlin and Cologne.
