MOTOGP CALENDAR. The 2021 MotoGP season started on March 28 with the Qatar Grand Prix and ends on November 14 with the Valencia Grand Prix. Find all the info on the 2021 MotoGP season.

The new MotoGP season kicked off at the end of March with the traditional night Grand Prix at the Losail Circuit in Qatar. Subsequently, the 2021 calendar has undergone some changes with the postponement indefinitely of the Argentine Grand Prix and the Grand Prix of the Americas scheduled for April 11 and 18 due to the coronavirus pandemic. To compensate and not waste time, the drivers will do two races in Qatar, the inaugural Grand Prix and the second titled Doha Grand Prix, on April 4. To replace the GP of the Americas, the management has decided to put back on the program the GP of Portugal in Portimao, a circuit which caused a sensation at the end of last season. This 2021 season is likely to be very attractive with the expected return of Marc Marquez, the exchange of motorcycles between Valentino Rossi and Fabio Quartararo or even a Johann Zarco at the competitive Ducati Pramac. After a particular 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the year 2021 should allow the return of a "normal" calendar even if two Grands Prix have already been postponed. Also of note is the return of the Finnish Grand Prix, the schedule:

As with Formula 1, MotoGP crowns a driver world champion and a constructor world champion at the end of the season. Points are awarded at the finish for the first 15 according to the following scale: 25, 20, 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point. During the 2020 season, it was the Spaniard Joan Mir on the Suzuki who was crowned world champion. To establish the constructors' classification, the points obtained by the two team drivers are added together.

Several manufacturers are present in MotoGP, they are Yamaha, Honda, Ducati, KTM, Suzuki and Aprilia. In total, these manufacturers share 11 teams, here are the teams:

22 drivers will be at the start of the 2021 season, not counting the guest drivers who will be returning after a pandemic year in 2020. Several changes are to be noted with the French Fabio Quartararo who joins the official Yamaha Team in place of Valentino Rossi who leaves for Yamaha Petronas and Johann Zarco who will have a factory Ducati at Pramac. Several rookies will also be present this year with Luca Marini, Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin as three drivers leave the paddock, Andrea Dovizioso, who wants to take a year off before returning in 2022, Cal Crutchlow who has become a test driver for Yamaha, and Tito Rabat, here are the pilots:
