The Government of Spain will finance the 193 actions in 90 municipalities of the province of Toledo with more than 12 million euros to alleviate the damage caused by the Filomena storm.
The aid approved by the State will serve to repair damage to municipal infrastructure and the road network, with the Ministry of Territorial Policy subsidizing 50 percent of the total budget of the approved projects.
This was explained this Monday by the deputy delegate of the Government of Spain in Toledo, Carlos Ángel Devia, and the president of the Toledo Provincial Council, Álvaro Gutiérrez, who thanked the support offered to the province of Toledo by the Government of Spain to help the affected municipalities.
Álvaro Gutiérrez, in addition, has announced that the Government of the Provincial Council of Toledo is going to support the municipalities with extraordinary aid "to cover part of the 50 percent with which they co-finance the total budget of the approved actions."
"A measure that demonstrates the commitment to the municipalities, to the citizens and, of course, the vocation for institutional collaboration with the municipalities themselves, with the Community Board and with the Government of Spain", said the president of the Diputación de Toledo.
Álvaro Gutiérrez has also highlighted the three own projects presented by the Diputación, which have been approved and endowed with more than 1.6 million euros, to which the institution will contribute 50 percent.
For his part, the sub-delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Toledo, Carlos Ángel Devia, has highlighted the effective response to approve the granting of these aids that, from the Ministry of Territorial Policy, are granted to municipalities to alleviate the damage caused by the storm Filomena.
"In record time", the sub-delegate pointed out, the Government of Spain has given a quick and effective response. In total, more than 12 million euros will reach the province of Toledo to "repair damage to municipally owned infrastructure, as was the case of the collapse of roofs in municipal facilities or damage to road networks."
In total, 193 actions are going to be carried out in 90 town halls in the province, the Commonwealth of Sagra Alta and the Provincial Council. These actions correspond to the projects presented through the Government Subdelegation and to which the Ministry of Territorial Policy finances with 50% of the total presented.
Devia has thanked the president of the Diputación de Toledo for the collaboration provided for the resolution of these grants "which have taken a lot of technical work."
Likewise, the sub-delegate recalled that these are only part of the aid that the Government of Spain allocates to the damage caused by Filomena, to repair municipal infrastructure damaged by the storm.
Those requested by individuals or those that affected agricultural holdings are also being processed.
The Government of Spain finances the three projects presented by the Diputación de Toledo for the repair of three provincial roads that represent an investment of more than 1.6 million euros, financed 50% by both administrations.
The actions contemplated in these grants requested by the Provincial Government for the roads most affected by the storm will be allocated to the TO-2437 road in the crossing of the town of Borox, 1.2 kilometers long (70,000 euros; 35,000 euros of the Provincial Council).
It is also contemplated to act on the TO-2034 highway between Cedillo del Condado, El Viso de San Juan and Carranque, 850 meters long, (954,604 euros, of which 477,302 euros Diputación); and the TO-2323 road in the section that connects the town of Recas with the A-42, 2.5 kilometers long (628,748 euros, 314,374 euros contributed by the Provincial Council.)
