Jean-Jacques Brouillet presided over the opening of the exhibit of Pierre Borie's works at the priory castle on Wednesday, May 25th. She is a Danish painter who prefers watercolor because it allows her to "express a feeling, a journey and a life with its imperfections". She claims she can "paint emotions (I) transpose onto paper", but her favourite subject is animal painting (she's an illustrator at Gramat museum). "Because animals seem to be true symbols for the emotions I feel."

Sofia also offers portraits and landscapes, in addition to the amazingly painted animals. Pierre Borie is a farmer and strong head for scrum. He happily devotes his time to sculpture, which is also an animal. "On the farm or at neighbours', i collect seemingly insignificant objects, bits of scrap metal and other materials, but each one has a real story," says the sculptor.

Pierre Borie continues to create more and less amazing animals by allowing his imagination to guide the objects through his brain and into his hands. The exhibition will be open through June 12.
