The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has attended this Thursday the improvised memorial that the residents of Uvalde have placed in front of the Texas county court to pay tribute to the victims of the massacre that left 19 students and two teachers murdered.

Markle, who currently lives with Prince Harry of England in California, has traveled to the city that has been in mourning for two days, going unnoticed in jeans, a T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Before the attentive gaze of a bodyguard, the actress placed a bouquet of white roses on the cross dedicated to one of the children who died at Robb Elementary School and walked through each of the crosses in remembrance of the victims, reading the names of each one of them.

The visit to this small town had not been announced, so it has caught the residents by surprise, who are still in deep pain. The trip also occurs just a few days after her father was hospitalized for a stroke.

President Joe Biden also plans to visit Uvalde in the coming days. Since the massacre, he has insisted on calling on lawmakers to change gun regulation in the United States and enact "common sense gun reforms."

The massacre that occurred last Tuesday was the bloodiest in the history of a school in twenty years.

This same Thursday, close to a thousand people have gathered between hugs and tears in the vigil organized to say goodbye to the victims to give them a last goodbye full of pain due to the prematureness of their deaths.
