With hardly any other ailment, apart from cancer, so many people are so eagerly waiting for a cure or at least noticeable relief as with Alzheimer's disease and similar dementias. It is too painful for those affected and for their relatives when a person mentally dissolves over the years. You really can't blame researchers at universities and industry for not doing everything they can to counteract this. Hundreds of substances have now been developed and tested for their effectiveness in Alzheimer's disease.
