In an accident in Malchin (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district), a driver caught and killed a young pedestrian and then fled. Passers-by found the victim on Monday morning and alerted the rescue workers. According to the police, the 23-year-old was walking on Christmas Eve when she was hit. The previously unknown accident driver then fled, as the police announced on Monday. Investigators from the criminal police, forensic medicine and Dekra were on duty at the scene of the accident on Monday. Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
