Around 250 junction boxes have now been sprayed by graffiti artists in Mainz as part of the "Gray becomes art" campaign. The campaign, which started in 2016, will continue indefinitely, said a spokesman for Stadtwerke. It has been shown that these junction boxes would not be smeared. In the meantime, the transformer house and toilet house would also be embellished accordingly during the campaign. Motifs include animals, patterns and lettering.
