Madrid continues to be on alert due to high temperatures: these are some recommendations to beat the heat

A total of 32 provinces from eleven autonomous communities will be at risk (yellow) or significant risk (orange) this Monday due to the heat wave, which will leave up to 43ºC at various points, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Specifically, in the Community of Madrid, the Sierra will have a yellow warning and the Metropolitan, Henares, Sur, Vegas and Oeste areas will have an orange warning for the same reason.

With this context, in an environment that is more summer than spring, the heat wave will continue to hit the country in the coming days. Therefore, it is important to take certain precautions when spending these days. These are some recommendations provided by Civil Protection:

– Limit exposure to the sun as much as possible and ventilate the rooms well.

– Do not do physical exercise in the central hours of the day.

– Eat light meals that have water and mineral salts, such as fruit, salads or vegetables. This way you can always stay hydrated.

– Avoid clothing with dark colors. In addition, the head must be protected, and if possible, most of the body.

– Caring for the elderly or those with pathologies, also those who live alone or isolated.

– Never leave people or animals inside the vehicle.
