Leading in each of the second and third rounds of the Cognizant Founders Cup, Australia's Minjee Lee maintained her lead in the final round on Sunday in Clifton, New Jersey, to win the LPGA event.

The winner was not out of harm's way throughout her final outing at Upper Montclair Country Club, however, as she bogeyed on her front nine, allowing her opponents to come back at the height of the race. . However, she managed three birdies on the back nine. She thus beat the American Lexi Thompson by two strokes.

Quebecer Maude-Aimée Leblanc was one of the two representatives of the maple leaf in the running at the start of the tournament, along with Maddie Szeryk. However, neither was able to qualify for the weekend rounds.
