These documents date back over 100 years but they are still very alive. They tell of the hopes and horrors of trench warfare, daily life for soldiers as well as their families.

Poilus letters are one last link to the Great War. Because Claude Choules, the Australian soldier who died in 2011, has no voice to speak.

The descendants of these fighters have kept many of these letters in good condition. We offer a historical journey through 14-18 via photos and videos from the archives of Ina, the army, and American services.
