London's second largest private home is in the Highgate district. Only Buckingham Palace is larger, but unlike the famous official seat of the royal family, Witanhurst, with its 65 rooms, you won't find it in any travel guide. It's hard to find at all, even if you're almost in front of it. High walls surround the property, behind which is an impenetrable green wall of trees and shrubs designed to block any view of the 4.5 hectare property. The message: keep out - no entry.
