"Let's Dance": Swapping partners on the dance floor

In the new episode of "Let's Dance" on RTL (also on RTL), ten celebrities were allowed to whirl across the TV floor with their dance partners. The jury awarded full points twice on March 24th. But by far the biggest surprise came at the end of the episode - and it had nothing to do with the performances shown.

For the first time in the history of the RTL dance show, all participating celebrities will be assigned a new partner for the upcoming edition, as the moderation duo Daniel Hartwich (44) and Victoria Swarovski (29) announced. Means: The existing dance couples who found each other in the first show in February will be temporarily dissolved. The shock of the bad news was written all over the face of some of the participants, but after Easter the celebrities and their previous partners are allowed to compete again in the usual way.

The dance evening opened with "Kneipenkind" and actress Chryssanthi Kavazi (34) with Vadim Garbuzov (35). It was obvious that she enjoyed an upbeat Charleston to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." It was "fun, fun, fun, fun" to see her dance like today, judged Jorge González (55). His jury colleague Motsi Mabuse (41) was largely able to agree with him and even Joachim Llambi (58) was quite gracious overall – 23 points for the dancing couple.

Sharon Battiste (31) had expressed concerns during training, but on Friday evening she was glad that she had completed the quick step with Christian Polanc (44). The actress took "two steps back" compared to the previous week, said Llambi. Accordingly, the jury awarded 19 mediocre total points. Ex-handball player Mimi Kraus (39) sacked 23 points with Mariia Maksina (25). "Strong man, very soft," Hartwich commented after her contemporary, and Mabuse also found the performance "very emotional."

The juror was then able to follow what she believed to be the best dance by YouTuber and entrepreneur Sally Özcan (34), who was able to prove herself with a Charleston alongside Massimo Sinató (42) and 22 points. The extremely good-humoured star chef Ali Güngörmüs (46) only scored 15 points with Christina Luft (33) and his "special samba", but their high entertainment factor still led to "encore" calls from the audience.

The mentalist Timon Krause (28) and "Let's Dance" favorite Ekaterina Leonova (35) kidnapped viewers with a Slowfox on what González called a "romantic journey". He has a musicality that is difficult to learn - 24 points. Anna Ermakova, who celebrated her 23rd birthday while training for the show on March 22, then performed impressively in her role as the favorite of the current season.

The daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker (55) and model Angela Ermakova (born 1968) showed Valentin Lusin (36) a quick step that caused the audience, in which her mother was also sitting, to erupt in storms of enthusiasm. "For me there was no better quick step in 'Let's Dance'," enthused Mabuse. Along with a slightly belated serenade in the studio and a hug from mom, there were 30 points. "Incredibly good quick step," said co-moderator Swarovski and Llambi would have given 20 points alone if he could.

With twitch streamer and entertainer Jens "Knossi" Knossalla (36), a pronounced entertainment talent followed. The heated audience also celebrated the Charleston shown with his "kindergarten teacher" Isabel Edvardsson (40). Very good 26 points, including eight from the often quite critical Llambi, made him cheer as if he had just won the entire show: "Llambi, eight!"

YouTuber and actress Julia Beautx (23) and Zsolt Sándor Cseke (35) also showed an impressive performance. According to González, she showed good development with her Paso Doble and Mabuse had the feeling that she was leaving everything on the dance floor. The former gymnast Philipp Boy (35) was able to top the 25 points with a contemporary. As a dance partner to Patricija Ionel (28), he couldn't have behaved better on the floor, as the jury noted. He also secured full points with 30 points.

After the sometimes outstanding performances, it was foreseeable that Knossalla, Ermakova and Boy, among others, would have no problems getting through to the next round. With Özcan, Güngörmüs and Battiste things looked a little different. Despite their best performance so far, the YouTuber and Sinató did not make it into the next show, which RTL will then show again next Friday, March 31, from 8:15 p.m.
