Leisure: Celebrities drive dog sled races for a good cause

Numerous celebrities once again boarded a dog sled for a good cause on the Usedom beach. Among the participants were boxing world champion Henry Maske, model Franziska Knuppe, former news announcer Jan Hofer and entertainer Wolfgang Lippert, as the organizers reported. Around 400 huskies were also present at the seventh edition of the "Baltic Lights".

Money was raised for Welthungerhilfe at the sled dog race. Last year, 45,000 euros were raised. However, due to Corona requirements, only about 2000 spectators could be there at the time. Before Corona, up to 60,000 visitors came over the three days of the event.

In 2022, Knuppe won the celebrity rating for women and actor Hendrik Duryn for men. They also wanted to take part in the race over four kilometers between the Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf piers again.
