At a meeting of around 50 Ukrainian refugees in a parish hall of the Liebfrauenkirche in Krefeld, 13 people were injured by pepper spray. It was initially unclear why the tear gas was released, a police spokesman said on Sunday evening. Following tips from witnesses, two suspects, aged 14 and 10, were questioned. As the investigation progressed, observers also recognized a 13-year-old. As part of his questioning, he stated that he had made a "robber's ladder" for his friend so that he could spray the pepper spray in the community hall.
