Not every gift should be accepted, especially when it comes to living animals. A few weeks ago, our daughter (31) received a small apiary from a friend. It consists of five wooden boards stacked on top of each other, each with semicircular notches milled into them. Held together by a tension belt, they form 50 openings as thick as a pencil. There was also a small wooden treasure chest with a hole in the front. In the treasure chest were about 50, a good one centimeter long, dark brown, oval objects: the pupae of the red mason bee.
