Justin Pugh, the guard, thought that Justin Pugh's ninth NFL season would be his last.

Pugh stated to reporters that he was looking for a career outside the game. However, conversations with Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim led to him reversing course and returning for another year in Arizona. After gaining 265 lbs, Pugh has been working to lose weight and is also taking up a new job this spring.

Pugh said that Rodney Hudson has stayed away from the team's center and that he would be happy to play there in the regular season. Tyler Drake, ArizonaSports.com reported that Pugh had taken reps for Pugh. He said that Hudson's return is unlikely, but that he would be paid more than he was.

Pugh will presumably remain the left guard in Arizona's quest to reach the playoffs next year even if he isn't playing at the center.
