Justice: Rocker group member escapes from prison in Euskirchen

A member of a biker group escaped from the open prison in Euskirchen. The 35-year-old has been in prison since November 2021 for violating the weapons law, a press spokesman for the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Justice announced on Friday evening. First he was in the closed prison in Remscheid and Rheinbach. In preparation for his release in June, he was then transferred to Euskirchen. According to the Justice Department, the 35-year-old fled on January 16. The spokesman did not initially give any further details.

"Bild" had reported that the prisoner was a former boss of the criminal rocker group Bandidos. He was convicted after a shooting with a Hells Angels rival. He also went into hiding shortly before entering prison in 2021. According to the report, the man is said to have disappeared during a yard walk.
