In the murder trial of the so-called ax murderer from Kalletal, the Detmold district court summoned eight witnesses from January. Statements are also made by a forensic doctor and a psychiatrist who are to assess the 36-year-old. According to a court spokesman, three days of hearings are scheduled from January 9th to February 6th.

According to the prosecution, the Azerbaijani killed a 39-year-old from Rinteln in Lower Saxony on June 18, 2022 while he was sleeping with an axe. According to the investigators, he is said to have acted out of jealousy. After the fact, he is said to have raped his ex-girlfriend in the bathroom in the same apartment, who had previously also been sleeping in bed. This charge is supported by DNA analysis.

Driving style alerted the police

Since he didn't have a driver's license and couldn't drive a car, his driving style attracted the attention of the police. At that time, she had no idea of ​​the bloody crime. According to the public prosecutor, the 36-year-old used a moment of surprise during the control and ran away.

A five-week flight to Poland followed. The police called on the population in Ostwestfalen-Lippe and Lower Saxony to be careful, truck drivers were asked to be careful. In Brandenburg, the 36-year-old was arrested on July 21 in Brieskow-Finkenheerd near the Polish border. Special police forces were deployed.
