She suggested levying the levy on "private assets from two million euros and business assets from five million euros". This should start at ten percent and increase with the amount of assets up to 30 percent. For particularly large assets from 50 million euros, up to 50 percent are conceivable. "Such a solution would ensure right now that the super-rich make their fair contribution to the financing and would also be covered by the Basic Law," Rosenthal said.

The member of the Bundestag also called for the debt brake to be suspended again in the coming year - as was the case from 2020 to 2022. Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) strictly rejects this. He also thinks nothing of a property levy. Rosenthal called on the SPD federal leadership to address the issues at the next coalition committee.

The Jusos come together on Friday afternoon for this year's federal congress in Oberhausen. The SPD chairmen Saskia Esken and Lars Klingbeil and Secretary General Kevin Kühnert will also speak at the three-day event.
