The jury is now sequestered at the trial of Carl Girouard, the author of the Halloween 2020 saber attack, in Old Quebec.

The judge issued his final instructions to the 11 jurors this morning, who begin their deliberations.

After 14 days of hearing, the jury must decide whether or not Carl Girouard is criminally responsible for his actions, committed on the evening of October 31, 2020.

The 26-year-old accused, who attacked 7 people armed with a saber, faces two counts of first degree murder and five counts of attempted murder.
