The mayor of Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), Telmo Martín, confirmed this Friday the intention of Don Juan Carlos to return to the municipality for the 6 Meter Class Sailing World Championship, which will be held between June 10 and 18, 2022.

This has been transferred by the councilor to the media after visiting the king emeritus at the home of his friend Pedro Campos, businessman and president of the Sanxenxo Yacht Club, where he will stay for the weekend with his daughter, the infanta Elena.

Martín has confirmed that the emeritus intends to "defend the title" of world champion won in 2019 at the head of 'Bribón', for which he plans to return to the Pontevedra town in mid-June.

The mayor of Sanxenxo has also said that Don Juan Carlos intends to "participate" in the Spanish Sailing Cup that starts this Friday at 3:00 p.m. In fact, the Yacht Club, which has already opened the registration of regatta participants, will welcome you around noon in a welcome ceremony.

Likewise, the alderman has stated before the media that he has seen Don Juan Carlos "very well" and "very happy to return to Spain" after almost two years in Abu Dhabi.
