Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are dividing the financial world. For some it is a technology that has the potential to transform the entire financial and economic system. For others, it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Katharina Gehra from Immutable Insight is one of those people who primarily sees the positive aspects.

"The blockchain is a further development of the Internet - with more security," she says in the podcast "What the Finance?". "If I do online banking today, I take a greater risk than if I have values ​​on the blockchain."

How can this be in the face of a wave of crypto hacks? Many coins are held in online exchanges or on different platforms. Storage in a so-called cold wallet is much more secure, says Gehra: a private storage medium that contains the key to crypto assets but is not permanently connected to the Internet.

The disadvantage? Only the owner knows the personal password. However, you must not forget this, because the following applies: No keys, no coins!
