Investigations against Donald Trump: This is how his wife Melania feels

Former US President Donald Trump (76) currently has a lot to do with the judiciary. Among other things, there are investigations into alleged hush money payments from 2016 to former porn actress Stormy Daniels (44). Trump's wife Melania (52), who has been married to the businessman since 2005, apparently does not want to talk about this matter, according to "People" magazine.

The magazine, citing unspecified sources, reports that the 52-year-old is enjoying life at the couple's Palm Beach estate. "Melania has her own life and continues to feel lucky to be in Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by people who love her and never talk about reality or bad things about her husband," a source is quoted as saying.

According to "People", this does not mean that she approves of her husband's role in the hush money scandal. The money is rumored to have flowed in connection with Trump's alleged extramarital affair with Stormy Daniels. The former porn star had claimed the affair took place in 2006. Trump has always denied having an affair.

Melania Trump is said to still be "angry" and doesn't want to hear about the matter, the source said. "She is aware of who her husband is and remains optimistic about her life with her own family and a few close friends."

The insider added that Melania has been upset by Daniels' allegations since at least 2018. At the time, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump allegedly arranged a $130,000 payment to the ex-porn star a month before the 2016 election so she wouldn't go public. While Trump and his longtime attorney Michael Cohen (56) initially denied the allegations, Cohen later acknowledged that a payment had been made to the porn star. Cohen called it "a private transaction" and told the New York Times that he paid Daniels $130,000 out of pocket in 2016.

Trump has since admitted to authorizing the $130,000 payment, but continues to deny underlying claims that there was an affair or that the payment was in any way related to his 2016 campaign. The investigators now want to check whether laws on campaign finance could have been violated. Trump could be the first former US President in history to be indicted in this connection. So far, the 76-year-old plans to run again in the 2024 elections.
