The quarter-finals of the Ice Hockey Champions League will take place without German clubs. After Wolfsburg and Straubing, EHC Munich was also eliminated on Wednesday evening. The Bavarians missed the sensation at EV Zug and after the 1:5 in the first leg had to admit defeat in the second leg with 1:5. Gregory Hofmann (1st minute), Dario Allenspach (24th), Fabrice Herzog (30th), Samuel Kreis (34th) and Yannick Zehnder (47th) scored for the Swiss champions. Ben Smith (12th) managed to equalize in the meantime.
The body language and the effort made it clear that the German runner-up no longer believed in a comeback. The hosts added more goals without having to put in much effort. Maksymilian Szuber (31st) also received a game misconduct penalty after an elbow check to the head of Tobias Geisser from Zug.
