Holidays: Gloomy weather forecast for Christmas - mild and rainy

Lots of clouds, mild temperatures and frequent rain: the weather is mostly gray over the Christmas holidays. The German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach also announced wind on Friday for the second day of Christmas. "Right after Christmas, cooler air flows in again, but this is only temporary," explained meteorologist Magdalena Bertelmann.

Many clouds dominate the sky on Christmas Eve. Between Schleswig-Holstein and Brandenburg it will rain at first, in the afternoon it will remain mostly dry. The rest of the country will experience intermittent showers throughout the day. It gets the coolest with 4 to 9 degrees in the north, otherwise the temperatures are usually in the double-digit range - between 10 and 14 degrees.

On Christmas Day there are longer sunny periods in the south, it remains dry. With temperatures between 9 and 15 degrees, it is very mild there, as well as in the west and center of the country. In the north and east, the thermometer shows between 5 and 9 degrees with overcast skies and frequent rain.

The forecast for Monday is also windy and rainy. Temperatures remain mild between 7 to 11 degrees in the northern half and 9 to 14 degrees in the southern half. The wind will be moderate to fresh, with strong gusts possible in the north and center.
