This weekend the challenge launched by the Hidraqua staff to travel the more than 500 kilometers between Benicarló (Castellón) and Orihuela (Alicante) by bicycle in favor of Aspanion was carried out. The arrival, which took place on Sunday morning at the Glorieta Gabriel Miró in Orihuela, was attended by representatives of Aspanion, the Hidraqua staff and citizens who wanted to encourage the participants.
The challenge has involved visiting most of the municipalities in which the company operates in the Valencian Community in 24 hours, with the aim of contributing to the practice of healthy habits. All funds raised during this race will go to Aspanion, the Association of Parents of Children With Cancer, also collaborating to expand the visibility of this Association and the work it does.
According to Jordi Azorín, CEO of Hidraqua, «it has been a unique experience. In this action, the solidarity, social commitment, camaraderie and the practice of healthy habits that characterize Hidraqua have been highlighted. I have been able to personally participate for nearly six hours in this challenge and the most emotional thing was seeing how the women and men of our staff and their investee companies in the Valencian Community were coming together at the different points we passed by to support this action».
For his part, Jose Ramón Peleteiro, a member of the staff and promoter of this initiative, who has managed to stay on the bike for 500 kilometers uninterruptedly, stressed that "it has been a difficult and at the same time very enriching experience that has allowed us to leave the work environment to carry out a healthy and social sports practice, where we have also been able to learn more about our colleagues from Hidraqua and its affiliated companies».
Likewise, Peleteiro thanked the company for the drive and support it has shown at all times with this initiative and the departments that have contributed to its achievement. “I have only been unaccompanied on the bicycle for three hours and I have received a multitude of messages that have conveyed their support to me at all times, which is why I have not felt alone at any point of the route,” he concluded.
